BALIBAGO, ANGELES CITY – On December 10, 2013, the Angeles City Map Up Team conducted the successful Google Map Maker Seminar Workshop for the Information and Communication Technology students of Jocson College. Guest speaker, Mr. JR D. Padilla, President of Angeles City Map Up, lectured on the importance of the Google Map Maker. According to him, having a Google Map, one enjoys the luxury of having the following: (1) Introduction to the City Geo Walk and (2) A complete view and information of all the city’s establishments such as hotels and restaurants. The seminar workshop ran from 9 am to 4 pm. The ICT students were given the opportunity to do Google Mapping of their respective areas. They were assisted by professional Google Map Makers. Before the closing of the program, ICT Adviser, Mr. Richard Dingal cordially awarded the Certification of Appreciation to the guest speaker and the Certification of Participation to ICT students.
BALIBAGO, ANGELES CITY – The 13th of March 2014 marked the First Educational Tour of the Aviation freshmen to the far north. The Aviation students, composed by the AMT classes of Airbus, Boeing, Concorde and AVT class Embraer, along with JCI Director for Aviation Training, Mr. Jose Casi, and some of their instructors boarded the Maynilad Tour buses and left the campus at exactly 0745 hours. Their first destination was the Jungle Environment Survival Training Camp in Subic. This camp was previously the training ground of the US soldiers for jungle survival the time when the Americans established a Military Base in the area. Today, the camp serves as a tourist spot for both local and foreign tourists. The forestry and wildlife features are the pride of the JEST Camp. The students, fascinated with the scenic view, took pleasure to pose pictures particularly in the Butterfly Garden. The next visit was equally a wild-like environment, the Zoobic Safari. In this amazing zoo, the animals are not in cages but are organized into their natural habitats, improvised by the management. The popular attractions of the area are the Tigers’ territory, Serpentum and Croco Loco. In addition to this wonderful trip, the students experience to see the Aetas performing their traditional dance. After a couple of awesome jungle and safari experiences, the students took some relaxation at the Harbor Point, the finest social establishment of the city. This mall is just 300 meters away from the beach, where the students have an hour of leisurely walk along its shore. At 1800 hours, the tour buses reached the campus at 1800 hours. The wonderful tour ended with much satisfaction, learning and astonishment to both students and instructors.
